Member Star Ratings
Everyone deserves a relaxing break. Member star ratings help make sure every family enjoys the peaceful, happy stay they have looked forward to.
Why We Have Them
Almost every camper is considerate, friendly and a pleasure to have on site. Just occasionally, though, a noisy or unruly guest can spoil the holiday of everyone around them, or leave a site in a state that the owners and the next family have to put right.
Member star ratings are there to protect you and the campsites you love from the very few who do not respect the places they stay in. They help campsites welcome considerate campers with confidence, so that quiet evenings stay quiet, pitches are left as you would hope to find them, and children can play safely.
Everyone Starts With Five Stars
When you join, you start with a full five-star rating. Good stays keep it there. A rating only comes down if a campsite reports that a stay did not go well, so most members simply keep their five stars.
How A Rating Is Given
After a confirmed stay booked through the club, the campsite can rate it, from the day you leave and for up to 30 days. They give an overall score from one to five stars, and answer five simple questions:
- Did you turn up as booked?
- Were quiet hours respected?
- Was the pitch left clean and tidy?
- Were the site rules followed?
- Did you arrive and leave at the agreed times?
The campsite can also add a short note. Your member rating is the average of your starting five stars and the ratings you receive.
What Campsites See
When you ask to book, the campsite can see your member rating, how many stays you have completed, the answers above, any recent notes and any replies you have written. Each campsite decides for itself whether to accept a booking.
Keeping It Fair
- You can see your rating and every rating you receive on your My bookings page.
- You can reply to any rating, and campsites see your reply alongside it.
- Campsites must rate honestly and only on the stay itself. A rating of one or two stars needs a short reason.
- No tit-for-tat. For 14 days after a stay, the campsite’s rating of you and your review of the campsite stay private until you have both had your say, then they are published together. Neither side can see the other’s before posting their own, and once a rating is published it cannot be changed.
- We check any low rating that follows a low review, or a low review that follows a low rating, in case it is a reaction rather than an honest account of the stay.
- If a campsite rates almost every guest low, its ratings stop counting towards anyone’s score.
- Cancelled bookings and enquiries are never rated.
- If you feel a rating is unfair, email us and we will look into it. We remove ratings that break our rules, and a removed rating no longer counts.
Keeping Your Five Stars
It is easy, and it is simply what makes camping lovely for everyone:
- Keep noise down during the site's quiet hours, and keep an eye on the children and dogs.
- Leave your pitch as you found it, and take your rubbish to the bins.
- Follow the site rules on fires, barbecues, cars and dogs.
- Arrive and leave at the agreed times, or let the campsite know if your plans change.
- If you cannot come, cancel with the campsite rather than not turning up.
Thank you for helping keep camping friendly, peaceful and fun for every family.
