Wake up to the peace and quiet of the East Yorkshire countryside at **House Martins Camping**, a friendly, family-run site offering a limited number of pitches across a spacious, level meadow.

Located in Shiptonthorpe on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, the site is surrounded by wildlife and countryside. Keep an eye out for owls, bats and pheasants on site, with deer and hares regularly seen in the surrounding area.

There’s no need to leave the dog at home either. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, with plenty of opportunities for walks directly from the pitches.

The site keeps things simple and back-to-basics, with toilet and shower facilities, a washing-up area with hot and cold water, drinking water and recycling facilities. There are no electric hook-ups, but charging facilities are available for phones and power packs.

Fancy a barbecue or campfire? Raised barbecues are welcome, and guests can bring their own firepit. Firepits are also available to hire, with firewood available to purchase on site.

When you need to stock up, Market Weighton is around five minutes by car and Pocklington around 10 minutes, both offering supermarkets, butchers, cafés, bakeries, pubs and takeaways. There’s also a milk vending machine in Shiptonthorpe, around a 10-minute walk from the site.

If you’d rather leave the car behind, a bus stop is approximately five minutes’ walk away, with services to historic York and Hull.
